AKC & AHBA Registration Number Information
How to obtain an AKC Registration number:
The American Kennel Club requires you to have a AKC registration number in order for you to compete in AKC Herding Events.
Here a few ways to get an AKC Number:
-
If you bought a purebred dog from a breeder, check with your breeder to see if your dog already has an AKC number. If not, email AKC to discuss the proper method of registration.
-
If you own a purebred dog without an AKC number but have papers from another organization, you are eligible for the, Open Registration.
-
If you have a dog that looks like or is a purebred dog but with no papers, fill out AKC's PAL Registration Form.
